The LSUHSC Department of Family Medicine is seeking a Family Medicine physician to oversee the LSUHSC Rural Family Medicine Residency program in Bogalusa, LA. Qualified applicants must be board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) and licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana by time of hire. Ideal physician candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience. Previous academic experience is preferred, but not required.

Practice highlights:
  • Primary responsibilities include precepting the LSUHSC Rural Family Medicine Residency program residents
  • The LSU Rural Family Medicine Residency Program is an institutionally sponsored program with 18 resident positions and is fully accredited by the ACGME
  • You will spend approximately 60% of your time precepting and overseeing the Family Medicine Residents in IP and OP settings, and 10% -20% of your time will be spent on OP responsibilities in your own OP clinic
  • The remainder of your time will be focused on administrative responsibilities
  • IP responsibilities will be at Our Lady of Angels in Bogalusa, New Orleans
  • Academic faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track); rank to be commensurate with candidate’s credentials and experience.
