Description
Celebrating our legacy of modern fashion, creativity, individuality, and intrigue by providing every guest with an unparalleled customer experience. We are currently seeking a full time Pastry Cookat Fred's Restaurant in Beverly Hills, CA.

The Pastry Cook coordinates the activities of all in preparation of desserts, pastries, breads, sorbets, simple syrups, jams, confections, ice cream, displays, and centerpieces. He/She will plan production, prepare, and supervise for the pastry department according to the menu or special requirements. The Pastry Cook will work closely with the Executive Chef and General Manager to create methods and procedures that all Pastry Cooks will use. He/She will monitor all supplies and equipment to ensure adequate levels are maintained and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all Barneys New York policies, service procedures, and standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
• Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Be familiar with the origin of all foods purchased.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas. Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation and health regulations and restaurant requirements. Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables.
• Meet with the Executive Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes, and other information pertinent to job performance.
• Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Write and maintain production schedule and pars.
• Establish specials of the day following European pastry standards.
• Start prep work on items needed for the day.
• Prepare and produce dessert menu items for restaurants, developing recipes and yield guides.
• Inform the Executive Chef of any shortages before the item runs out. Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by the Health Department.
• Direct and assist Stewards in order to make clean up a more efficient process.
• Assist the breakdown work station and complete closing duties
• Assist with inventories as scheduled.
• Perform duties in other areas of kitchen as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3-5 years experience as a Pastry Cook at a fine dining restaurant.
• Food handling and sanitation certificate.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to compute basic arithmetic.
• Ability to expand and condense recipes.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
• Previous guest relations training.
• Good conflict resolution skills.
• Artistic ability.
• BS preferred.
• Vocational training certificate.
• Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship.
• Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish.
