What Is a Guest Services Agent?
A guest services agent works behind the front desk of a hotel, assisting guests from check-in through checkout. As a guest services agent, your job duties include greeting guests upon arrival, checking them into their rooms, providing keys or key cards, answering questions, booking and canceling reservations, and coordinating with other hotel staff to fulfill requests. There are no educational qualifications beyond a high school diploma to earn a job as a guest services agent, although a certificate or degree in hotel management or hotel business administration can advance your career. It’s important to have some customer service experience as well as excellent communication skills to succeed in this role.
