How to Become a Facilities Coordinator

The qualifications to become a facilities coordinator typically include a bachelor’s degree in administrative services, business, facility management, information management, or a similar discipline. Some employers only require a G.E.D. certificate or high school diploma if you have extensive related experience. The International Facility Management Association offers a certification program for aspiring administrative service managers that you can consider, and this certification is competency-based. Most employers seek applicants with experience, so completing an internship can be beneficial. It’s helpful to develop strong communication and multitasking skills as well as your knowledge of using Microsoft Office programs and financial planning software.
