Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) is currently seeking an experienced, dedicated Veterinary Assistants to become part of our medical staff. Be a part of Los Angeles’ oldest and largest animal welfare organization, serving Southern California since 1877.

  • Administer health examinations, vaccinations, and diets for shelter animals.
  • Prepare animals for, and assist veterinarian during, treatment or surgery.
  • Opportunity to assist at community vaccination events, animal rescues, or disaster response and more.

At spcaLA, you’ll enjoy competitive wages and excellent benefits (including 401K with matching). This is a full-time, non-exempt position, working out of all spcaLA Pet Adoption Centers.

Essential qualifications: Veterinary Assistant Controlled Permit (VACSP); 3 years practical experience as a Veterinary Assistant; Shelter experience preferred.
