IT Portfolio Operations Lead -Hyperion/Finance-Project Management

Role Description:
The IT Portfolio Operations Lead will facilitate the coordination of the governance processes, standards, analysis, and tracking for the Pharmaceutical Operations & Technology (PO&T) portfolio of projects. Initially this person will be ensuring the annual operating planning cycle is executed according to senior leadership expectations and aligns to the organization’s strategic plan. This position will report into the Director of PO&T IT Portfolio and Operations.
Specific Duties:
• Execute the PO&T IT Annual Operating Planning inputs including: ownership of financial data updates & reviews with IT Functional Leads; this includes appropriate budget forecasting; variance analysis against strategic plan; reconciliations with Finance
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for Portfolio Manager and Functional Leads
• Oversee and ensure adherence to the principles, tools, and processes related to PO&T IT portfolio governance, in accordance with Enterprise IT PMO standards
• Facilitate review of Business Case submissions for new project proposals
• Gather and report metrics related to the state of the PO&T IT Portfolio
• Ensure Project Management compliance with reporting standards, and communicate bi-weekly portfolio updates to the team and to leadership
• Ensure project teams are demonstrating a proper level of schedule and cost control
• Proactively raise execution concerns to project teams and leadership
• Drive monthly Financial reviews with IT Functional Leads to ensure accurate financial tracking. This includes appropriate budget forecasting; month-end reporting of actuals and accruals and variance analysis; reconciliations with Finance
• Represent PO&T in Enterprise PMO discussions and process decisions
• Facilitate and manage the agenda and minutes for PO&T IT Leadership Team meetings
• Liaise with Finance to support additional portfolio planning and management activities

Skills/Qualifications:
• 6+ years related experience (project or portfolio management
• Process-oriented with very strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Works well under pressure and with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Above-average proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
• Experience with budget forecasting tool like Hyperion preferred
• Pharma/Biotech experience preferred

Minimum Education Requirements:
• BA or BS (ideally Finance/Accounting, Business or Computer Science,).
• MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Formal project management qualification is preferred (PMP or similar)
