We are seeking an Optometric Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
  • Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
  • Escort patients to exam and testing rooms
  • Assist Doctor during eye examinations

  • Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in healthcare or other related fields
  • Familiarity with medical billing procedures
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Responsible for performing preliminary examinations and evaluations of patients with visual complaints, eye diseases or disorders by initiating and executing technical tests in a busy, high tech Optometric Physician’s office.

  • We work a 40 hour week - (Four 10 hour days (Monday -Thursday)

Our scope of practice includes: General Eyecare and disease management - fitting of spectacles andcontact lenses - Treatment of eye disease including: Red Eye, Dry Eye, Glaucoma, Foreign Body removal, Macular degeneration Etc. We do not perform surgical procedures like LASIK or Cataract, but we do co-manage these conditions with other medical professionals. We are looking for someone to be trained in performing diagnostic procedures such as Ocular Photography, Automated Visual field testing, etc. that require a reasonable amount of technical skill. Other possible job duties could include the sale and dispensing of dispensing of glasses and contact lenses, medical billing and coding, filing records, general clerical duties, answering the phone etc. We use an electronic medical record system, so computer skills are required
