About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer II you will work within a multidisciplinary team to design, document and test stable, high tolerance laser and optical assemblies. You will devise, design and build robust tooling and process equipment suitable for reliable high volume manufacturing as well as define user interfaces and overall system layouts. In this role you will execute verification test protocols that include environmental and accelerated life testing and oversee the procurement of engineering and prototype parts.
 
Your Qualifications
  • Minimum of BS degree in mechanical engineering
  • Candidate will have at least 3 years of mechanical design experience
  • Development experience with high-power laser and optical assemblies desired
  • Proficiency with Solidworks and engineering drawing practices including tolerance analysis and working understanding of GD&T
  • Candidate shall be highly organized and detail-oriented with clear and professional written and oral communication skills
  • Detailed understanding of precision mechanical design associate with optical assemblies and the principles of fine mechanics to maintain micron-scale tolerances
  • Strong understanding of the principles of heat transfer, thermal modeling, stress/strain behavior, materials selection and standard machining and sheet metal process

Salary, level based on experience, education and skills:

  • Mechanical Engineer II: $80,000 - $93,000
Other Compensation and Benefits:
  • Target Cash Bonus of 5% of your wages
