Job Description

The Revenue Cycle Specialist Supervisor is over the Revenue Cycle Specialists and AR Collectors and provides support as needed. The Revenue Cycle Specialist Supervisor is a working supervisor, which manages all aspects of insurance and AR follow-up while adhering to HIPAA compliance, privacy, and confidentiality standards.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum of 1-year in the medical billing field, preferably with insurance account follow up experience

· Working knowledge of CPT codes, ICD-10 codes and LCD/payer specific guidelines

· Ability to evaluate and update payer contracts and fee schedules within a client’s billing software system

· Understanding the importance of key performance indicators and the ability to process manage as necessary

· Time management skills and multitasking of multiple projects and centers at one time

· Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

· Proficient in Microsoft Office products to include but not limited to Office, Word, Excel, Teams

· Professional attitude and teamwork mentality

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Completes all functions associated with the Revenue Cycle Specialist role (see Job Description)

· Pull productivity reporting for all Revenue Cycle Specialists and enter on master spreadsheet

· Complete monthly audit for Revenue Cycle Specialists and AR Collectors

· Work with all Revenue Cycle Specialists and AR Collectors to ensure timely completion of month end tasks

· Update Medicare Wage Index annually in all billing systems

· Complete payer contract upload and/or updates in all billing systems

· Assistance with keeping charge master/payer grids updated as changes are made

· Address and resolve account escalations

· Assist with process creation and implementation

· Work with Training Coordinator on training for new hires, as well as training current staff on any process changes

· Field basic-intermediate questions from co-workers

· Assist managers as needed with the onboarding process for new clients

· Completion of monthly 1x1’s for each MPS team member

· Assist/lead team meetings as necessary

· Responsible for approving timecards, time off requests, and other similar functions

· Responsible for performance management, including performance reviews and corrective actions.
