iBuild Florida is seeking an experienced skilled tradesperson (Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Heavy Equipment, Welding, HVAC, Pipelayer)

Our next construction trades classes will kick off in September, but we would like to have time with work with our new instructor. While book work is an important component of the educational experience, hands-on work is critical. The new instructor will choose building projects that will keep our construction apprentices engaged and excited.

iBuild has opportunities to teach 15-week full time sessions or 2 evenings per week over a 2 semester year. Full time classes are offered Monday – Friday from 7 am – 4 pm. Part time class times are either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday beginning at 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Providing and supporting classroom instruction for the program.

Maintaining a safe, orderly and up to date workshop area for the application of multiple projects within the curriculum.

Evaluating and reviewing students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.

Keeping appropriate records of testing and grading.

Utilizing technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, communicate with others, and facilitate learning.

Maintaining student discipline through effective classroom management.

Attaining, maintaining, and reviewing program certification requirements, as appropriate.


Master-level or experienced journeyman in trade Construction Trade Experience: 5 years (Preferred)

Computer literacy

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, stoop, kneel, crawl, bend at the knees and ability to carry 90-100 pounds. You must possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.

Licenses and Certifications:

NCCER Certification required within 6 months of hire date. Must possess a current and active Florida driver’s license.

Education Required:

Minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience

Job Type:

Part-time or Full-time


Starting salary of $30 - $40 per hour.
