geocgi is looking for a Data analyst to assist a DoD client with integration of external business systems for an optimized data warehouse. The analyst will utilize appropriate integration standards and methodologies, including geospatial strategies, to analyze the maturity of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Business Enterprise Architecture at Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM). The analyst will provide support for critical functions of the GF-Enterprise Integration (EI) Program Office and communicate with all levels of the Marine Corps (Headquarters, Regional Commands, and Installations). The analyst will work as part of a team that provides specialized programmatic support to the MCICOM Business Enterprise environment including system governance, data (including geospatial) integration, cross system analysis, facilitation of business enterprise governance discussions, and alignment to Federal Data Strategies. The Analyst will be expected to communicate and coordinate with other staff and/or contractors, project management, DoD clients, and installation personnel. The candidate will execute the responsibilities of a Data Analyst supporting business enterprise program management functions, which include:
Dimensional Data Model creation, support, and compliance following MCICOM business processes.
Develop and automate ETL processes.
Alignment of MCICOM Business Enterprise to Federal Data Strategies (DoD, DoN, and USMC).
Implementation of governance and standards across the USMC Business Enterprise environment.
Communication of standards, methods, quality assurance/control processes, and metrics.
Establish the MCICOM Master Business System Framework for Interoperability
Development of policy, standards, white papers, training materials, and Standard Operating Procedure documents.
Requirements gathering from a variety of USMC Functional Subject Matter Experts and installation personnel.
Working with a wide variety of data sources including geospatial data, open data sources, pdf's, Visio diagrams, Excel spreadsheets, access databases, and personal interviews to meet task objectives.
Document and report on emerging technologies that may be of benefit to streamline the MCICOM Business Enterprise environment for decision support.
Automation of tasks and procedures via various scripting languages.
The following are requirements of the potential candidate:
Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Data Science, or IT related field
Proficiency with MS Office suite including Excel and Access.
Proficiency with data warehousing software and enterprise information management techniques for data management
Proficiency with business intelligence for data analytics, data management, and data visualization
Experience with Esri products including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS
Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems
Excellent written communication skills and documentation habits to include but not limited to; decisions, developed procedures, configuration, and/or custom scripts.
Knowledge of DoD and Federal GIS Data Standards and Policy, such as SDSFIE.
Knowledge of DoD Federal Data Strategies
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
The following are desired capabilities and experience of the potential candidate:
Experience in DoD Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) or other DoD installation functional areas, and military working environments
Intermediate to advanced skills using Python to automate activities.
Intermediate to advance skills using SQL, SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Experience creating web-based applications and solutions.
