Make a difference as a medical assistant for a premier integrative medical practice in Palm Beach Gardens that specializes in medical cannabis, opioid addiction (suboxone treatment), and other holistic treatments like acupuncture, colon hydrotherapy, massage therapy, Healing Touch, and CBD products (see website: eMDeCares.com). Applicable backgrounds include work in medical cannabis, substance abuse / recovery center / addiction, medical assisting, nursing, medical receptionist, health administration, and/or health coaching, with proven experience in how medical offices flow. As a small office, each staff member plays a vital role in the success of the practice. This position is built for a mature, dynamic, people-oriented medical professional committed to ensuring all patients receive a positive full cycle experience.
The role requires a versatile individual capable of multi-tasking in patient care/counseling and office administrative functions. A large portion of our patient population is seeking symptom relief via medical marijuana OR recovering from opioid addiction. We pride ourselves on providing a high level of discreet, non-judgmental, compassionate care. Our staff must engage with patients, listen attentively, answer their questions, make them comfortable, recommend products & resources, and exceed their expectations. The MA helps conduct both in-office and telehealth appointments, preps patients for the doctor, collects UDSs, and manages/follows-up on registrations, labs, prescription needs, etc. The ideal candidate will have a warm, caring, inquisitive personality and confident communication style with patients. Must be very stable, reliable, flexible, organized, trustworthy, calm under pressure, able to multi-task and adapt to change. The role is "back office" oriented but will be fully trained in "front desk" duties and regularly cross-over into that area. Ideal candidates will also have the experience and maturity level to handle a modest list of administrative or office-related tasks at an "office manager" level of responsibility. Note: we are a cash pay office, no insurance taken.
We strive to outperform other medical offices and depend heavily on our staff to be difference-makers. This position is more than a paycheck … it’s a career in helping patients and influencing the success of a team-oriented culture. We expect a lot but always reward success. Our practice enjoys a well-earned 4.9 out of 5 Star Rating on Google.
Maturity, trust, initiative, confidence, attention-to-detail, dependability, and strong work ethic are a must. Basic medical knowledge, strict adherence to HIPAA/Privacy compliance, and office administration experience are required. Candidates should have an understanding/appreciation for holistic/integrative medical modalities and be particularly knowledgable and/or conversant in substance abuse (suboxone treatments), medical cannabis, and CBD basics. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, G-Suite software products, and Florida MMU Registry is required. Experience with social media posting and/or product marketing considered a Plus.
Pay: $15 - $20 per hour depending on experience. Discretionary bonuses available. 45-90 day probationary period initially. Opportunity for growth depending on performance & need.
