MANUFACTURING INTELLIGENCE PROJECT ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT: Information Systems Department

REPORTS TO: IS Manager

STATUS: Full-Time

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

WORK HOURS: Monday – Friday business hours and occasional after-hours + weekends depending on project schedules with flexibility for travel

JOB SUMMARY

The mission of Cybertrol’s Manufacturing Intelligence Group (MI) is to provide business systems and people with production information for improved decision-making and to provide production systems with business information for improved manufacturing performance.  In this role you will be responsible for a number of different tasks to accomplish MI’s mission including configuration of COTS manufacturing intelligence, data integration, and workflow products; software development of middleware, data collection, and web-based UI applications; and report and analytics development to name a few.  You will be working within cross-functional teams including Automation, Hardware Design, and Industrial IT engineers to deliver comprehensive projects, and you will often need to work directly with Cybertrol’s customers to define MI-related project requirements.

  • Configuration of manufacturing intelligence software
  • Software development
  • Data analytics and reporting
  • System documentation
  • Customer support and communications
  • Site commissioning start-ups
  • Simulation and validation of code
  • Staying current with technologies
  • Compliance with IS internal standards
  • Communicating effectively with project managers for status, deliverables, and technical needs
  • Creating work breakdown structures (WBS) for project tasks 
  • Working directly with customers to help design solutions to their problems
  • Participating in sales activities including customer visits and trade shows
  • Quote development

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industry: desired industrial experience, manufacturing
  • Willing to travel up to 15%
  • People skills: customer interviewing, non-technical interaction, user/customer journey exploration
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required[AB4] 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office desk/cubicle environment, extensive sitting, and computer use
  • Site Visits/Work (15%)
    1. Industrial manufacturing facilities around production equipment and operations, management, engineering, and equipment supply personnel with these possible conditions:
      • Construction area site work around construction equipment and personnel
      • Hot, cold, and loud noises
      • Stairs, ladders, indoors and outdoors
  • Typical   personal    protective   equipment:      safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and electrical safety PPE as well as any other PPE specified by the customer
  • Work may include working weekends, holidays, nightshift, and extended hours to meet deadlines and commissioning requirements
