What is Required for Recovery Towing?
Semi trucks and RVs that have ended up in a ditch or some distance from the roadway require a true heavy-duty tow vehicle with extended wheelbase, winches and cables, and maximum towing capacity.
Some vehicle recovery companies, such as Zore's Towing & Recovery, are fully trained in accident scene management and hazardous material handling. Securing the scene and keeping onlookers away are important elements of the process.
In some cases, particularly with tractor trailer overturns, more than one recovery vehicle may be needed to turn the rig over. From there, heavy duty tow trucks can return an inoperable truck to a safe location. Experienced drivers understand the angles and the necessary cables and accessories and power required to put those vehicles upright
