Principal DevOps Engineer


Zoomph is a sponsorship AI measurement platform used by some of the most well-recognized sports and esports teams, leagues, and brands across the globe. Our mission is to measure and value the digital world.

 

We are looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer with a background in Software Engineering to manage and enhance our infrastructure. This role requires astute technical leadership and business acumen, innovative thinking, excellent communication skills, and a deep passion for sports, data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

 

You will work closely with Zoomph’s Head of Engineering to build the next iteration of the Zoomph partnership measurement platform. You will primarily work independently but have the ability/experience to collaborate to overcome challenges and obstacles where necessary.


The job will entail ownership of all of the following:

  • Zoomph's SaaS and API environments across production and development.
  • Automation of CI/CD containerized pipelines, including full test coverage and security checks during stages.
  • Architecture and establishing standards for the development and deployment of modular systems components.
  • Administration of Linux operating systems (configuring services, cron, bash scripting, hardening, etc.)
  • Tracking and enhancing application performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Investigating platform issues and recommending/implementing solutions.
  • Researching, prototyping, and implementing infrastructure improvements and cost-saving optimizations.
  • Mentorship of junior resources.


You are a great fit if:Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, including 2+ years in a lead capacity.
  • 5+ years of experience managing AWS resources, network configuration, security, hardening; and setting up of a well-architected framework.
  • 4+ years of experience managing highly scalable data pipelines and data stores such as ElasticSearch and MSSQL.
  • 3+ years of CI/CD and Kubernetes experience.
  • 2+ experience using Azure DevOps tools.
  • Experience with C#/.NET, web languages (HTML, CSS, JS) and scripting.
  • Understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging systems.
  • A BA/BS or education/certifications commensurate with education.


Extra Points if you have worked on:

  • Experience with RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with Graylog.
  • Experience with NewRelic or Cloudcheckr.
  • Proficient in code quality and test automation tools and embedding them into continuous integration pipelines.
  • GitHub/GitLab account with open source contributions.
