Flavor Lab Tech – Dairy Applications

A well-established flavor manufacturing company has an amazing opportunity for a talented Flavor Lab Tech to support the Dairy Applications team. This role will support multiple projects within the Plant Based Protein, Food Systems and Clean & Simple Platforms. The main responsibilities will be do conduct recipe development activities and testing in dairy and dairy alternative applications. This will include pilot plant and lab processing of recipes, conducting evaluation using lab measurements such as viscosity, gel strength, microscopy and particle size, and developing clear and concise reports and presentations on the data and results.

These projects include:

· Support for Catalyst Customer Program-conducting lab and pilot plant trials to support product development for pay-per-service Catalyst business model

· WaxiPlus (C&S)-Evaluation and starch ingredients in dairy application recipes in lab and pilot plant processes

· Monarch (FS)-targeted recipe development in dairy alternative applications

· SunnySide (PBP)- targeted recipe development in dairy alternative applications

· Palladium (PBP)=GTM recipe development in dairy alternative applications using Vit 1853

Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:

BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science or related science field with relevant chemistry laboratory experience
Strong understanding of chemistry, mathematical skills and familiarity with analytical quantitative calculations is required.
Experience/knowledge in infrared spectroscopy, chemometrics, carbohydrate chemistry, and/or rheology fields is desirable
Familiarity with experimental design, statistical data analysis, and interpretation of results is preferred.
Experience working in research environment is desirable
Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
Good organizational skills and ability to handle large amounts of data.
Team player who can adapt to dynamic work environment.
