About the role

Zillow is looking for a skilled developer to join our new AI Platform team, dedicated to building the next generation AI platform to power AI research & products at Zillow.

In the AI Platform team, you'll help craft Zillow’s approach to artificial intelligence research & Products in a deep way, powering products like home value estimation, economic research, personalized recommendations, and democratizing machine learning across all products.

You’ll create end-to-end machine learning systems - consistent model training, evaluation, deployment and delivery for batch, streaming and real time use cases. You'll make data access consistent and easy. You’ll make model behavior transparent and easy to explain. And, you’ll create a feedback loop for the models in production. Together these systems will create a research environment that lets model developers move fast and deliver cutting edge AI solutions with less effort.

You'll work collaboratively with Engineers, Applied Scientists and cross functional teams in crafting and implementing AI Platform’s technical vision. You will be exposed to cutting edge research and models such as Random Forest, Deep Neural Networks, Matrix Factorization etc, and you will create highly scalable distributed systems and services to productionalize machine learning.

Your efforts will provide real people the information and confidence people need to make important decisions about their home.

Who you are
  • A degree (BS+) in Computer Science or a related discipline. Masters in Machine Learning preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience building highly scalable distributed systems on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)

  • Have vision and experience to make end-to-end Machine Learning Platform solutions.

  • Experience with the Big Data ecosystem (Hadoop/Hive/Spark/Presto/Airflow)

  • Experience with Machine Learning applications a strong plus

  • Enjoy a collaborative environment, and bring fun to work

  • Enjoy Python, Spark, EMR, docker, Kubernetes, EKS, scikit-learn, MLLib, XGBoost, TensorFlow, HDFS, kafka, kinesis, flink, hive, and Deep learning
