Vice President, iShares Board Governance

At BlackRock we are seeking a Vice President to become part of our San Francisco iShares Board Governance team. You will be part of a team whose mission is to advance the high quality regulatory and board engagement model for the U.S. iShares Boards of exchange traded funds. In this role, you will attend Board meetings and draft meeting minutes, including coordination of approvals with a variety of internal and external partners. You will also work with other team members and partners to review and draft other presentation and meeting materials. This position will require exceptional interpersonal skills as you collaborate with cross functional teams, senior management and Board members. Some travel will be required (twice per year).

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Draft meeting minutes for multiple Board and Committee meetings per quarter, and incorporate comments from reviewers
  • Draft annual report disclosures related to contract approvals
  • Complete analyses and presentation decks for new or unique business initiatives and special projects
  • Review and edit quarterly Board reports
  • Prepare and assist in the uploading and review of Board Books on an electronic platform
  • Assist Board members with iPad and other technology needs

Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent business writing skills
  • Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Effective project management skills; ability to handle deadlines with minimal direct supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly dedicated; willing to take ownership of issues and follow through to resolution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Other data management experience (Access, SQL) a plus
  • A positive personality and desire to learn
  • BS/BA degree required; JD/MBA preferred
  • 7+ years legal or other broad experience in the investment management/financial services industry
  • Knowledge of federal securities laws a plus
