Wire Harness Designer

A mobile construction equipment manufacturer in Henderson NV is currently looking for an experienced Wire Harness Design Engineer.

Interested candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field required. in an accredited Engineering or Technology curriculum or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years' previous experience designing wiring harnesses for harsh environments such as engines, trucks, construction, mining or agricultural equipment, etc.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite

Requirements

MUST HAVES:

• BS in Engineering -- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.

• Minimum 3 years experience in designing wire and cable harnesses.

• Support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities wire harness routing and the creation of the harness along with supporting brackets is a must.

• Ability to create, draw, and release detailed wire harness assembly and installation drawings.

NICE TO HAVES:

• SolidWorks PDM experience is a plus
• Previous experience designing wiring harnesses for CANBus systems is highly desired.

• 3+ years experience with CAD programs, preferably SolidWorks.
• 3+ years of experience with Solidworks Electrical Schematics and SolidWorks Electrical 3D for Harness and Cabling Routing is a major plus.

• Experience with wire harness engineering, project management, and applicable software tools.

• Mobile Construction equipment wire harness experience, including documents processes, specifications, and procedures.

• Experience with updating specifications and engineering standard work documentation.

• Hands-on experience with wire harness manufacture and installation on mobile equipment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design complex wire harnesses that are mounted on and around gasoline, diesel, and electrically powered mobile construction equipment.
• Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
• Resolve technical design conflicts with multiple other design teams and supports assembly, integration, and test activities for wire harness products.
• Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
• Advise of project status, timing, resource availability and capability.
• Assist in establishing design completion dates.
• Perform all other duties as needed.
