Job Description


    • Participate in kick off meeting and understand application flow & functionalities.
    • Attend daily scrum meetings, Retrospective meeting, sprint planning meeting & three Amigos meetings.
    • Study Demos and presentations available about the business requirements and functionalities
    • Interacting with the Product owners, Business Analyst & Development team to understand product vision, review requirements and specifications.
    • Review/Verify requirement specification document for the manual & Automation tasks assigned in the current sprint.
    • Document the Test Strategy/Approach based on the Edward Jones standards.
    • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code based on existing process.
    • Identifying regression test cases from manual test suite.
    • Select appropriate tools for regression test suite like Serenity BDD framework, Gradle & JAVA for test automation.
    • Maintaining test environment up and running.
    • Daily huddle with team (daily team stand up meeting).
    • Review and analyze the Test cases and prepare plan for automation
    • Review and analyze acceptance criteria for the features assigned in the current sprint.
    • Coordinate with Application development team for any bugs identified.
    • Mentor Team members, network with other Automation teams within Organization and derive automation best practices for continuous improvement.
    • Following the software testing lifecycle using tools like Application Lifecycle Management, Confluence, JIRA
    • Build and develop automated tests using Serenity BDD Framework, Gradle, SELENIUM, JAVA & Git Hub(version control).
    • Design and developing custom layered Page Object Model Framework, which works independent of tool upgradation.
    • Prepare test cases using Selenium Web driver to validate all UI components, Pop-ups, Browser navigations, Mouse Movements. Implement procedures for quality improvement and maintenance of existing test scripts based on continuous improvement process.
    • Partner with development and other team members and provide technical guidance.
    • Work closely with QA Automation teams to create agile test automation solutions
    • Leverage Edward Jones SDLC processes and meeting critical business objectives.
  • Implement procedures for quality improvement and maintenance of existing test scripts(Code refactoring) based on continuous improvement process.
  • Preparation of the testing artifacts in the standard Edward Jones development model (for example ambiguity review, test evaluation summary, test plan, requirement traceability matrix).
  • Used quality management tools like HP-ALM, Atlassian Tools – Used JIRA, Bit Bucket, and Jenkin.
  • Execute integration test cases(Triggers Automatically)whenever a new code deployed to master code repository.
  • Execute Smoke Test cases (Priority=1 tag) for any Infrastructure changes happened for application.
  • Execute feature/functional test cases if there is any change deployed for a specific functionality/Feature in current sprint.
  • Execute Regression test cases weekly (batch job) and also for every release (once in 3 months).
  • Bring in the best agile practices and train new team members on Automation tool and techniques.
  • Provide the technical assistance from Automation Testing standpoint.
  • Participate in daily scrum call to update status of test automation and work with developers if there is any blockers for automation.
  • Aid the business users/ product owners in UAT environment setup and test data for UAT.
  • Create CI/CD pipeline for the project.
  • Configure batch job in Jenkins to execute regression test cases(based on parameters provided) .
  • Executing test cases both manually and automatically (Jenkins Job) whenever required.
  • Analyze automation report generated post Jenkins execution.
  • Involving different levels of testing like Smoke testing, Integration testing, Regression testing, System testing (both manual & Automation).
  • Analyze automation report generated if there is any test case failure.
  • Identify the process gaps, provide alternatives to the project team and identifying new scope of Automation in different business areas.
  • Conduct review meeting with business teams and developers
  • Review and track all defects identified during the testing phase in JIRA and cycle back with the core development team for any fix / fine tuning.
  • Prepare RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for production and UAT bugs with short-term and long- term mitigation plan in order to improve the process and prevent repeated productions bugs.
  • Organize Business & product owner review meeting(Bi-weekly) to get the business approval for developed test cases. These test cases will be integrated(Jenkins Job) to Jenkins for further test execution.
  • Ensure activity(executing regression test cases) is complete.
  • Provide project release sign-off to the stakeholders, once the Quality Assurance completed for the release build.
  • Review test cases and reports generated for test execution.

Educational Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field.

Experience Required:

Minimum of four (3-4) years of QA Automation experience required.
