Position Overview

This position’s key initiative is to reduce AE non-selling time, improve customer experience and reduce operating inefficiencies through continuous improvement to the supply chain systems and processes, ensuring sales and purchase orders move through the fulfillment cycle timely and accurately. This position will provide strategic order management support by identifying, recommending, and implementing enhancements to achieve a user-friendly supply chain interaction from quote to delivery. Utilization of exposure to escalations, Root Cause Analysis, seeking out improvements and expert understanding of internal process/systems provides the Order Management Specialist with the tools to drive positive change affecting the Zones business.

The Order Management Specialist II is primarily responsible for:

  • Proactively identify and help implement enhancements to order management processes and tools to support a positive customer experience, streamline order processing, and provide scalable solutions
  • Ability to develop relationships internally to facilitate order management process efficiencies
  • Provide continuous support and communication to sales, purchasing, warehouses and vendors with regards to order changes and resolve accordingly
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication to expedite resolution of discrepancies and order issues
  • Coordinate and monitor the progress of customer orders from acceptance to fulfillment to ensure customer requirements are met and appropriate process flow is maintained
  • Provide improvement examples to Vendor Compliance Team for use in QBR
  • Analyze and develop processes to streamline efficiencies and impact on cost, delivery, service, and other metrics
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on system gaps/enhancements, develop business requirement documentation for formal submission of IT projects, and contribute to their suggested prioritization

We are seeking candidates with the following experience and skills

Education

  • BA/BS degree required, or equivalent experience

 

Required Experience

  • 2+ years required of experience in Order Management, Project Management or Customer Management
  • Working knowledge of purchasing, inventory management and order fulfillment
  • Ability to learn, perform and optimize complex interrelated processes
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel required; knowledge of Access is a plus
  • Must work with a sense of urgency and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment
  • Candidate must have the ability to manage project timelines and stakeholder action items
  • Utilize interpersonal awareness to develop and maintain strong working relationship across all levels of business
  • Ability to develop and implement creative solutions and influence others in their adoption
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in handling a high volume of inbound inquires
  • Excellent customer focus

  • Ability to work extra hours during end of month or end of quarter if necessary
