Purpose:

Plans inventory replenishment to support the overall needs of the business.


Job Functions/Accountabilities (Essential & Marginal):

Essential Job Functions:

Inventory Management:

For finished goods produced in Kentucky plant, toll manufacturing locations, and selected imports:

  • Ensures inventory availability at multiple warehouses to support customer demand and on-time delivery targets
  • For imported products – plans replenishment, provides forecasts to suppliers, directs issuing of purchase orders, and monitors material in transit
  • Controls distribution of inventory with restricted sales
  • Actively participates in the material disposition/grading process to ensure appropriate classification of inventory
  • Communicates supply issues to interested parties; seeks ways to resolve issue or minimize impact

Demand Planning:

  • Continuously maintains demand expectations for each product based on historical sales, customer input, and market intelligence
  • For Kentucky plant products – prioritizes production to meet inventory targets while balancing plant efficiency
  • Leads weekly production planning meeting with Kentucky plant and interested parties
  • Provides monthly production forecast for financial planning
  • Power user of Avercast demand planning software with an emphasis on growing its integration with other ZCLP systems

Business Intelligence:

  • Maintains strong alignment with Business Managers and coordinates with sales team regarding sales forecasting and inventory balancing
  • Power user of Power BI business intelligence software, as both a producer and consumer of data

Compliance + Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensures compliance with JSOX, company policies, laws, and other regulations relating to the sale and commerce of ZCLP’s products
  • Continuously seeks ways to improve performance of our facility's operation and ensures that customers' (both internal and external) needs are met. Adhere to the quality system.


Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management. (Note: these duties will be deemed essential or marginal based on content.)

Regular attendance is essential for satisfactory performance in this position.


Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelors degree preferred.

Business courses in Marketing/Sales, MBA, and/or APICS certification would be desirable.

Experience:

5 years in planning, scheduling, or purchasing preferred.

Additional Experience Information:

  • Min. 5 years career experience in Demand Planning or similar.
  • SAP (R/3 or R/4) or similar ERP system proficiency at an intermediate/advanced user level, ideally in Materials Management (MM) and/or Sales & Distribution (SD) SAP modules. Working familiarity with Material Resource Planning (MRP).
  • Advanced ability with Microsoft Excel for ad-hoc analysis is necessary

Additional Desired:

  • Experience working for a chemical or specialty material company.
  • Hands-on experience as core pre-launch team member for business intelligence, demand/forecasting tool and/or ERP (e.g., SAP) system.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience designing reports and visualizations in business intelligence tool (e.g., PowerBI and Tableau). Ideally as a “go to” resource for team/organization.

Special Qualifications:

Good verbal and written communication skills are required.

Strong interpersonal skills are critical.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential.

Self-starter, highly motivated, with good presentation skills are essential requirements.


Travel:

Less than 10%

Potential for periodic remote work.
