HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR:
Young Invincibles (YI), the national research and advocacy group working to advance economic opportunity for young adults, seeks an HR Coordinator to join our Operations team. This is a full-time temporary assignment ending in April 2023, with the possibility of an extension. A rapidly growing organization with offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, New York, and Denver, YI is the place for a resourceful HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys helping others accomplish their goals. The HR Coordinator performs day-to-day Human Resources activities by providing a broad range of support services to ensure employees, processes, programs, and policies are aligned and optimized to achieve company goals. The ideal candidate has experience researching, developing, and implementing effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for organizations.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable with virtual, in-person, and hybrid workplaces. Full COVID-19 vaccination is required. All YI employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You're considered fully vaccinated two weeks after you get a second dose of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or two weeks after you get a single dose of the Janssen/ Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
Reports to: HR Manager
KEY COMPETENCIES + DUTIES
Facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process for YI open positions.
Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, and industry.
Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
Collaborates with the hiring manager and HR Manager during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding and new hire orientation, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
Serve as the primary backup for part-time employee payroll processing.
Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements.
Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve the employee experience.
Assists with ensuring legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE
A background in Human Resources and/or recruiting is preferred
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
Must show a high level of discretion with confidential and sensitive information
Proven ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple types of administrative tasks; strong attention to detail and accuracy; persistent follow-through skills.
Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations is preferred
Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is a plus
