SUMMARY:

 

The Pricing Analyst (PA) is responsible for the administration of YOHTA’s business intelligence portfolio with a strong emphasis on advanced customer pricing and data analytics functions. The PA supports the design, implementation, ongoing maintenance, and review of YOHTA’s pricing and discount programs, under the direct supervision of the Manager - Pricing Strategy. This support will be in a manner consistent with achieving the company’s sales, margin, and brand positioning objectives as well as working directly with sales leaders or segment product managers on an independent basis. The continuing function of the role from PA will rely heavily on the creation and analysis of price files and reports which will help determine the market targets as well as the pricing trends currently in place in the market. This analysis will create the basis for future price setting measures as well as business objectives for both pricing and distribution.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Creation and maintenance of Price Lists (customer, channel, product, etc)
  • Develop and analyze standard reports required to support the pricing strategy, such as pricing and margin management scorecards
  • Monthly reports for sales review. Provide insight with data analytics – sales trends and opportunities by size, pattern, product, category, or geography 
  • Maintain monthly discount report by brand, segment, and sales representative. Present findings to management team for future discount reductions and margin improvements.
  • Track, monitor, and analyze key success metrics of all pricing actions and strategies to ensure analytics are delivering desired business impact. Interpret results of analytical insights and communicate results to business leaders to drive value.
  • Gather data from online dealer websites to collect customer pricing to end users on YOHTA and competitor products
  • Assist in the development of an exception-based reporting structure to identify outliers in sales and areas of potential growth
  • Develop strategies on how to improve competitor price collection process
  • Pricing analysis – how can YOHTA target regions, categories, or specific products with pricing strategies to increase sales and/or margin?
  • Predictive modeling to implement sales/marketing specials to incentivize purchases when customers are prone to buy
  • List Price and OE/AM Customer Price uploads
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the VP Marketing or Manager Pricing Strategy
  • Automate Internal Analytics, Reporting & Decision-Making workflows such as Item Master, VBGB reports, Special Program Trackers

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Develop self-service tools/apps to aid sales team (EBITDA tool, Net upload tool)
  • Work independently with Product Managers and Sales Team with pricing recommendations based on well-organized data
  • Establish best practices regarding data interpretation to facilitate effective business decisions
  • Guide, persuade, motivate key decision makers in the organization to be more data driven
  • Organize and conduct BI (such as Tableau) workshops to onboard decision makers in effectively utilizing such tools
  • Assume the admin and tech lead on the USMTA data sharing program
  • Continue enhancements on several key projects related to price optimization, reporting automation, dashboard generation, pricing applications, and customer segmentation

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor’s degree, with a major in an analytical discipline (e.g., Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Business Management, Mathematics, DATA Management/Analytics, or related fields)

  • 1-3 years working in a business analysis role, or recent graduate with superior skill set
  • Experience working in a pricing analyst role preferred
  • Working proficiency with NAVISION
  • Demonstrate proficient background with data modeling and trending
  • Experience using statistical modeling and/or programming software such as R, Statisica, SAS, SQL, VBA, SPSS, Python, etc.
  • Must have experience with database creation and management, involving manipulation of large datasets from multiple sources
  • Outstanding time management skills with organized habits with sound communication skills and ability to reach out to other departments if working independently
  • Must have experience with creating visualization reports and dashboards in Power BI and Tableau
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present factual data in a concise and organized manner
  • Must have an obsession for detail and consistent habits of checking work
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with strong skills in other computer programs (e.g., MS Word, Outlook, Access)
