Position: CNC Machinist
We are looking for a hands-on, self-motivated, detail-oriented, core value aligned, CNC Machinist to join our experienced team of dedicated skilled craftsmen. The CNC Machinist will work on a 3-axis CNC milling machine setting up and writing programs.
Essential functions
- Operating CNC machining equipment to produce parts using prints provided
- Program and setup jobs by reading prints
- Identify and communicate tooling needs
- Loading tooling for jobs and measuring tool length offset
- Load and unload parts
- Deburr and mark parts as needed
- Verify, using measuring instruments, surface finishes and tolerances according to print
- Monitor tooling, coolant and oil levels on machines and adjust as needed
- Troubleshoot normal program and machine issues
- Follow safety and OSHA requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Knowledge
- Able to read, comprehend and understand mechanical prints
- Ability to read, write and edit G code programs
- Strong math and communication skills
- Ability to read, comprehend and use measuring and inspection equipment
- Precise measuring skills
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Associates degree preferred
- 10 years of experience setting up and running CNC mills
Physical Requirements
- The team member frequently is required to stand, stoop, walk, climb stairs, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
- Must have adequate vision to use all related equipment and materials, including depth perception, in addition, the team member is required to effectively communicate, talk or hear
- Regularly lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds and stand on feet for an extended period of time
Working Conditions
- Work is normally performed in a machine shop environment that will fluctuate in temperature and noise level
- Requires use of machinery which consists of moving parts that can be unsafe if used improperly, safety rules should be adhered to at all times
- Personal Protective Equipment should be worn at all times
