We are seeking a experienced Control Engineer
In this role you will be responsible for the quote, design, release, and provide support to manufacturing all standard products, options, and customer specific orders. You will be responsible for the cost of quality and assuring that the design intent is transferred into a quality product resolving manufacturing and final test issues quickly to meet the customer demand rate and business objectives.
You will be responsible for plans and will prioritize daily tasks without supervision to meet established deadlines. Must have the ability to resolve complex questions related to engineering work. Possesses broad product knowledge and engineering ability to accurately quote customer order requests, analyze component specifications for fit, form, function and recommend most cost effective part. Define bill of material structures for ease of use in manufacturing.
This position is guided by corporate policies and procedures and by widely accepted industry standards. The next level supervisor monitors workload.
Creates and releases all standard configured and engineered order documentation to manufacturing using the latest industry standards.
Authorizes changes to mechanical drawings and implements changes using the business system design tools.
Selects components and creates accurate bill of material structures.
Investigates and approves changes to engineering documentation when manufacturing issues arise to insure on-time delivery of customer product.
Prepares accurate order quotes and submits documentation to management for approval.
Provides technical expertise for the product and specific applications. Instructs and trains engineering associates and other associates from different departments as required by the needs of the business.
Participates in new product design beginning with the design concept and final product specification.
Evaluates component deviation request for fit form, and functional characteristics.
Assists purchasing with vendor evaluations and qualifications.
Controls and processes customer change requests relevant to order engineering documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
BSEE or BSEET engineering degree with 3-5 years of related work experience related work experience in the electrical/electronic engineering discipline.
Excellent understanding of drive theory with the ability to design and interface customer specific I/O logic requests.
Experience designing Industrial Control Panels to UL508A preferred. Otherwise, experience designing industrial control panels to NFPA 70 (NEC).
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical industry codes and how they relate to drive and motion technology.
Ability to plan, organize, set priorities, and resolve issues expeditiously to meet the customer demand rate.
Excellent computer skills with a fundamental understanding of Microsoft suite of programs.
Ability to create engineering schematics and assembly drawings using the business CAD software package.
Excellent written and speaking communication skills to effectively communicate with associates at all levels of the organization.
Basic project management skills with ability to create project schedules determine project flow and define critical paths.
