Yardmaster, a green industry leader in Northern Ohio, has an incredible opportunity for an ambitious General Manager to join our organization. We are seeking an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit,a great depth of knowledge in Commercial Landscaping, Landscape Maintenance and Snow Maintenance to manage the daily operations for sales activity, training and development of team members, daily operations for the organization and production activity and labor.

This unique individual must be self-motivated and capable of leading our Cleveland Division in its growth strategy and of being able to manage with a firm, fair and fun mentality. Position Responsibilities:

· Developing strategic and tactical plans and budgets for our 2 Cleveland operating locations (with 3rd in development) involving Commercial Landscape Management, Snow Maintenance and other exterior enhancements for our clients’ properties

· P&L Management

· Developing all performance metrics for both the Company and its employees

· Implementing controls for all performance metrics

· Thorough understanding and ability to evaluate and produce accurate bids

· Managing submitting

· Managing scope change

· Directing project and landscape management operations to include snow removal

· Ensuring all safety requirements are met at all times

Being responsible for other duties as assigned based on the needs of the business
Position Requirements:

· Minimum of five (5)years of experience as a General Manager or similar position in the landscaping industry working with a company with a gross income of at least $4 Million

· Five (5) years of experience working directly with large commercial clients

· Five (5) years of experience managing employees with emphasis on:

· Developing and maintaining training and development plans

· Motivating employees to achieve their individual potential

· Holding employees accountable for their performance vs. job description

· Managing people and creating disciplines and coaching that drives productive employees

· Developing and maintaining team cohesiveness

· Developing flexible teams who will easily adjust to change based on the needs of the business

Bachelor’s Degree or some college preferred (Degree in horticulture strongly preferred)

In-depth knowledge of Project and Landscape Management Division Operations

Proven ability to think and plan strategically and tactically with emphasis on:

· Developing long-term strategies for business growth, target markets, profitability and associated strategic budget development

· Developing tactics that support the achievement of the long-term strategies with the associated measurements and controls

Solid understanding of Management Metrics:

· Performance /Production Metrics for both individuals and the team

· Staffing Metrics

· Employee Development Metrics

· KPIs

· Job Costing /Financial Metrics / Profit & Loss

· Solid understanding of Management Controls to ensure metrics are consistently at or above targets anyhow to improve negative results

In-depth knowledge of Estimating with emphasis on incorporating:

· Field Labor costs,load, overtime factor, unavailable time, markup percentage and proper ratio

· Equipment costs, fuel,insurance, repairs and maintenance, rental, markup percentage and proper ratio

· Material costs,shipping percentage, warranty percentage, applicable taxes, markup percentage and proper ratio

· Subcontracting costs,insurance requirements and markup percentages

· Overhead costs,overhead wages, expenses and markup dollar amounts

· Overall Profit Margin

· In-depth understanding of construction Budget Development & Management

· In-depth knowledge of Change and Submital Management

· In-depth knowledge of construction Project Management with emphasis on:

· Developing project plans

· Mission and Scope

· Critical Path
