Marketing Communications Specialist - Virtual/Remote

Job Description
The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for following workflows to create, package, and share YR organizational content, reporting on key platform analytics and performance, and implementing initiatives to grow stakeholder audiences. This individual must be well-versed in current and rapidly evolving digital marketing, a strong copywriter and communicator, and passionate about co-creating with and mentoring young people.

You will: 
  • Work with the Director of Communications to develop content ideas, publishing schedules, and creative direction for YR Media corporate social and brand platforms.
  • Work with key internal key-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.
  • Write a variety of different content to support communications and marketing efforts, including newsletters, website copy, event invites, corporate social media platforms and press releases.
  • Manage daily pacing and real-time optimizations of live campaigns.
  • Coordinate external and internal communications flow (memos, newsletters, etc.).
  • Assist communications team in implementing a communications strategy designed to further company objectives.
  • Monitor analytics and create reports detailing the successes and failures of communications campaigns and strategies.
  • Help gather information for media inquiries and maintain relationships with the PR agency and other stakeholders.
  • Promote company events to help keep the organization top of mind.
  • Coordinate volunteers, support staff, vendors and more to support promotional events.
  • Perform outreach to press outlets, magazines, influencers and build strategic partnerships to grow brand notoriety.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, performs other activities as assigned and required.

You should have:
  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Superior time management and organizational skill
  • Content writing experience for all media platforms
  • Proven social media and networking expertise
  • Strategic and creative mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of email marketing software such as MailChimp or a similar programs
  • Excellent written editing skills, including copy editing/writing/proofing and fact-checking
  • Knowledge of data analytics to allow measurement of online performance
  • Creative, engaging, quick-thinking.
  • Knowledgeable of Photoshop, Premiere and After Effects 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects.

Location Requirements: This role is currently remote; however employee’s principal place of work shall be located in Oakland, CA or any of YR Media designated hubs around the country.
