Youth Swim Coaches at the Longmont YMCA (fall season)

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking coaches for our Longmont YMCA Youth Swim Team. Our coaches will play a role in all facets of building and maintaining our high quality, competitive swim programs. This includes direct coaching and supervision for swim practices and meets for young people ages 5-18, providing leadership to all participants, building strong confident swimmers, creating challenging and fun swim workouts and interacting regularly with parents of our swimmers.
Programs runs September 1, 2023 through April 2023 tentatively depending on Championships, with at least one weekend meet per month over the course of the season. Times vary.
Longmont team practices are Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:30 - 6:30pm and Tuesday, Thursday 4:30-6:30pm.
You might be the right candidate if you are an energetic and enthusiastic individual with the ability to act in a caring and responsible manner. A team player with strong communication skills and a good role model with competitive swim/coaching experience.
· Must hold current certifications in First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen and CPR-PR or the willingness to obtain prior to start date.
· Safety Training for Swim Coaches or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
· USA Swimming Coach Certification or completion of certification prior to start date.
· Previous swim coaching experience preferred.
· Strong knowledge of swimming as a sport to include but not limited to rules and regulations, skill development, training plans, swimmer education and motivation, parent involvement, competition and team administration.
Salary range $14-$27 per hour based on experience. Additional hours are available coaching in our Masters' swim programs and in multiple roles in the aquatics and other departments of our Y.
