The YMCA of Metro Chicago is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Graphic Designer with a desire to problem-solve to join our internal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualization and implementation of design solutions that meet marketing and communication strategies while uniting our brand voice across all marketing touchpoints.
You will play a lead role on any given project and flex your communication skills during stakeholder presentations. You'll ensure high quality work across a wide range of applications including print, advertising, retail, and digital. You'll search for inspiration from our dynamic internal partners and you'll learn and thrive on a highly collaborative team.
Scope of Responsibilities:
+ Concept and design print and digital creative, render masterful typography and coordinate photography direction
+ Collaborate with internal partner teams to create a high volume of work on time, on budget and on strategy
+ Participate in brainstorms, translate that thinking into beautiful presentation layouts and communicate concepts to stakeholders
+ Manage workflow through entire lifecycle of project including:
- Meet with stakeholders and adjust designs to fit objectives
- Manage project, timelines and reviews
- Work with partners, such as production designers, copywriters, photographers, stock houses, printers, programmers, developers, to complete the final product
+ Consistently produce high-quality, streamlined mechanical files and ensure that final released files are optimized for design intent, vendor capabilities, and cost considerations
+ Manage production schedules and operations of YMCA Metro Chicago's graphics needs and work closely with marketing and communications team to ensure projects are completed on time and within set budgets, including the review of specifications and bids from vendors
+ Act as the Brand Ambassador internally and externally, ensuring brand consistency across all mediums and applications
+ Anticipate the visual communication needs of the YMCA Metro Chicago association and spearhead new initiatives
+ Manage library of graphics, images, and templates
+ Be a source of positivity, inspiration, creativity and fun
+ Bachelor's degree in a directly related field (advertising, graphic design, visual arts, etc.).
+ 5+ years of experience as a graphic designer or art director in an agency/firm/studio/corporation
+ Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
+ Work efficiently while quickly adapting to shifting needs, balancing several distinct initiatives at any given time
+ Solid portfolio, available online
+ Fluent in current Adobe Creative Suites Applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
+ Computer proficiency in Microsoft suite of products
