Production Manager Summary:

The Production Manager is a champion of the manufacturing site and is accountable for all business metrics related to their area of responsibility. Responsible for partnering with all functions within the business to develop, drive, and implement policies, procedures, and actions to achieve business plan commitments.

Production Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and employee development through selection/talent acquisition, performance management, training/development, coaching/mentoring and motivation of management, supervisory and hourly employees in alignment with the business goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate and lead Plant and IVSR activities through planning and departmental support to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner while fully meeting customer requests.
  • Direct and manage all operations with overall responsibilities for production, manufacturing engineering, quality, and other production related activities.
  • Reach, maintain, and surpass key indicators including on time performance, quality focusing on reduction of cost of non-conformance, efficiencies, and utilization of machines
  • Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff
  • Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team
  • Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime
  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free
  • Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production
  • Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations
  • Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality

Production Manager Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree or 7+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Ability and willingness to communicate routine and urgent processing issues and needs to Leadership. Escalate issues as appropriate and in a timely fashion to ensure information is shared effectively
  • Self-motivation, independent work habits
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
