Wyyerd is seeking an OSP Project Manager (PM) who will be responsible for supporting the construction of FTTH GPON fiber plant by managing the end-to-end process and coordinating internal and external teams and individuals in contributing to the construction process. The OSP Project Manager is a vital part of the Wyyerd team. Wyyerd has near-term plans to dramatically accelerate expansion and, in doing so, the construction of new fiber plant. The OSP team is responsible for working with outside contractors to enable the rapid deployment of fiber plant in order to enable this expansion, and the OSP PM will play a key role in this process.
Responsibilities
Define and manage end-to-end project plans for network deployment projects, from evaluation through approval, design/engineering, permitting, construction and installation
Manage the daily construction and installation of fiber plant that will be constructed underground as well as overhead.
Ability to motivate teams of interna employees and contractors.
Communicate effectively with all teams and individuals, internal and external, involved in the end-to-end process
Work with local City inspectors in an effort to ensure permits are being managed and closed properly.
Manage a team of OSP Field inspectors to ensure daily reporting of progress is communicated and that schedules are being met
Ensure quality installations by contractors
Deal with local HOA’s or residences in the event contractor issues arise.
Working in fiber mapping tools and OSP project management tools is a must
Identify roadblocks for management and identify/recommend solutions
Maintain organized trackers, records, and other data on a daily basis
Effectively forecast, track and report out on results daily/weekly
Other duties as required
Experience/Qualifications
College degree preferred - Engineering / Construction Management
College degree and/or equivalent 3 to 5 yrs experience in similar field
Positive attitude, willingness and eagerness to learn new things, team player
Must have knowledge of fiber network construction process
Working computer knowledge and Microsoft Office knowledge
Understanding and interpreting fiber plant maps
Must have clean driving record
Ability to pass drug test
Understanding of ISP services
Ability to work with others on all responsibilities
Project Management experience within the telecommunications industry
