Student Finance Coordinator

We are seeking a Student Finance Coordinator to become an integral part of our team! You will take charge of implementing the vision, mission, and core values established by the school.

The Student Finance Coordinator duties include counseling and advising students and parents on various financial aid programs, assisting with the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, evaluating Financial Aid applications in order to determine student eligibility for various programs, and collecting data and keeping accurate records.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate financial viability of students and families and provide advice regarding available financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements, and the application process
  • Assist students in the application process for financial aid by helping them complete appropriate and required forms, by advising them of their rights and responsibilities concerning financial aid, and by providing them with information about the status of their financial aid applications
  • Work cohesively with Admissions Representatives in order to facilitate outstanding service to prospective students and their families
  • Determine student eligibility for various financial aid by evaluating financial aid applications
  • Review for accuracy and provide signature approval/disapproval of loan applications, promissory notes, and other financial documents
  • Conduct entrance and exit counseling, in accordance with school, state, federal, and agency guidelines
  • Respond to inquiries and research and resolve problems related to student finance
  • Provide information in person, on the telephone, and through electronic methods to current students, prospective students, and families regarding student financial aid, account balance, and school status
  • Implement, coordinate, and oversee assigned administrative programs
  • Conduct workshops and/or presentations to students to explain financial aid programs and application processes
  • Assist students with institutional payment plans

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, in writing, and over the telephone
  • Ability to engage with those of varied cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to make evaluative judgments
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, coordinate, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to verify and assess student eligibility for financial aid
  • Ability to use personal computers and related software applications
  • Ability to adapt to change and incorporate those changes in job function
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and policies concerning the provision of financial aid to students
  • Knowledge of financial aid policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements
  • Knowledge of data management systems and processes
