Job Description

Job Summary: The Program Director will to be in charge of adult medical day care center daily operation; overlook the care, nutrition, safety and hygiene of all participants; responsible for company business flow; responsible for Human Resource related employment issues; ensure the program on the right direction to meeting all government regulations; promote the healthy living and wellness.


Work Hours: This position may require various shifts at various times (including weekends) in one or more work sites.

Job Duties: The following list of duties is a guideline of possible duties to be performed independently or as a group of duties in the course of working with the client.


  1. Develops and implements program policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
  2. Hires and supervises staff
  3. Arranges for volunteer and student assistance and supervision
  4. Arranges for orientation and ongoing in-service training of staff, students and volunteers
  5. Develops, implements and manages the daily program
  6. Documents in participant records on at least a monthly basis. Examples of documentation include, but are not limited to, changes in functioning, conversations with physicians, family members, legal representatives, changes in attendance, and the like.
  7. Monitors billing procedures and financial arrangements with participants/caregivers
  8. Prepares budgets, grant applications, proposals and contracts
  9. Develops and maintains linkages with the Departments of Social Services, Aging and Health and other organizations that give support to the program or to the participants
  10. Develops a quality assurance system for evaluating program effectiveness and the effectiveness of individual care plans
  11. Educates community groups about adult day services and what it provides
  12. Coordinates transportation services
  13. Leads multi-disciplinary team
  14. Supervises professional and para-professional staff
  15. Other duties as assigned


  1. Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, recreation, health, education, business administration, public administration, or Registered Nurse.
  2. Five (5) years professional experience providing services to special populations, such as the elderly or the handicapped, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory capacity. Two of the five years must have involved providing services for older adults.
  3. A Master’s degree in one of the educational areas listed above may be substituted for two years of non-supervisory experience.
  4. Ability to establish working relationships with senior citizens, family members, professionals and community groups
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  6. Excellent public speaking skills
  7. Ability to develop and maintain an effective multi-disciplinary team
