Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for a qualified candidate to work on-site as a full-time Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Engineer for a Government client in Washington, District of Columbia. The Cloud Engineer is needed in the design, configuration, optimization, and maintaining the baseline images for window desktop and server operating systems. The candidate must have a current certification as a Microsoft Azure Administrator or higher certification. The main function of a Cloud Platform Engineer for DSC is to establish, maintain and harden the baseline operating system images and monitor for adherence to the baseline.

Location: Washington, DC

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with IT Operations to develop the process and tools needed to maintain and monitor operating baselines and configurations for the organization.

• Collaborate with IT Operations to deploy these baselines.

• Monitor enterprise adherence to the use of approved OS baselines.

• Background knowledge or experience with Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Window Server Operating Systems, SCCM, Slack and Azure Automation and Blueprints

• Automate tasks with PowerShell Automation.

• Experience developing standards in partnership with Engineering, Infrastructure Service, and Application Development to select appropriate technical solutions.

• Knowledge of Windows, SQL, Unix and Linux servers.

• Familiar with Azure Automation and Blueprints, Azure Monitor and Heartbeat.

• Familiar with security and management tools such as Nessus, ForeScout CounterACT, Microsoft System Center, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft InTune.

• Familiar with Microsoft Preview program.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• MUST be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related major.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based solution architectures.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in maintaining operating system baselines, include the deployment to a large organization (over 1000 assets).

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

• Microsoft Azure Administrator or Higher Cert. (Required)
