ITS Vice Presidency Context:
Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.
Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.
ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.
Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.
Within ITS, the IT Governance, Strategy, and Monitoring unit (ITSGM) works to enable business outcomes through IT strategic planning, governance, information based decision support, cross-functional insight, and thought leadership.
ITSGM's Program Reporting and Monitoring team is seeking a Senior IT Assistant, Business Management, to support the operation, enhancements, and communications surrounding the service-based costing (SBC) model as well as provide support for general program reporting and monitoring activities.This role will be based in Washington, D.C., and will be responsible for the duties and accountabilities set out below.
Duties and Accountabilities:
The Senior IT Assistant, Business Management will be part of the Program Reporting and Monitoring team and perform a variety of duties to assist in the operation and support of the function including, but not limited to:
•Collect, analyze, and report on data artifacts used in developing the SBC cost model.
•Process monthly SBC data loads, troubleshoot issues, and develop resolution options.
•Develop analysis for management decision-support.
•Collaborate with other ITS units to mature the SBC model.
•Design, implement, and document procedures.
•Coordinate with internal and third-party system support.
•Prepare for and test system upgrades.
•Train others on the use of the SBC model.
•Develop communications materials in MS Power Point and MS Word.
•Support IT running cost analysis and compare to industry benchmarks.
•Contribute to strategic roadmaps for the SBC service.
•Support general reporting operations, including delivery of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual processes, to provide timely and accurate information for executive decision making.
•Other cross-functional duties within ITSGM as required.
Selection Criteria
•Bachelor's degree with no experience required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
•Experience with ServiceNow ITFM module.
•Experience in data visualization using Tableau Desktop and Prep. Any experience with other visualization tools, such as Microsoft Power BI, would be a plus.
•Understanding of IT Financial Management (also known as TBM) concepts.
•Understanding of budgeting and reporting concepts within an IT context.
•Advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Access.
•Proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite productivity tools.
•Experience coordinating processes across functional areas in a matrixed environment.
•Strong oral, written, ad interpersonal communication skills.
•Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle.
