Workforce Genetics (WGx), and our media brand, BioBuzz, aim to be unforgettable to the candidates and clients we serve. WGx is a recruiting and marketing firm with a core focus on the life science and engineering fields. We recently launched BioBuzz as a new media brand for the Life Science industry and we are seeking a Social Media Marketing Intern (Part-Time) to join the team and help us shine!
We are looking for someone who is fearlessly creative, independently driven, open to learning, innovative and who enjoys working as part of a team to deliver exceptional results.
As an intern, you will be given several projects and achievable goals and work with the digital media team to accomplish them. Your overarching mission during the internship will be to maximize the impact of our social channels to increase audience engagement with our brand and increase subscription to our newsletters.
Your responsibilities will include:
Work with the Digital Content Manager to create and implement new social media and newsletter campaigns.
Develop engaging social media content to achieve various goals for our brand(s).
Develop content calendars on a weekly and monthly basis for the company's brands
Monitor analytics to understand our audience behavior and content performance and come up with viable ideas for improvements
Develop a strong understanding of market segments, including the main influencers, various industry components and our clients
Assist in the general distribution of newsletter, news, press releases and media alerts
Provide social media support during industry events
Monitor the company's social media accounts and offer constructive interaction with users
Ensure that our advertisers and sponsors get maximum engagement and exposure through our social channels
You would be great for this role if you have:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
In-depth working knowledge of social media marketing on major platforms, including; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Youtube
Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics
Basic knowledge of platforms, such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Wordpress, Canva (or other digital design software)
Knowledge and experience with SEO or writing is a plus
Upon completion of your internship you will:
Complete a presentation to the team on the work you did during your internship, including the impact you have had on the media brand and how well you did at completing your projects and meeting your goals.
Provide your recommendations for the company's social media strategy moving forward and any necessary changes to the digital marketing plan.
Be capable of meeting the responsibilities that are required to be a social media marketing specialist.

As a social media intern at WGx you will primarily work remotely and be required to meet weekly or bi-weekly with the Digital Media team for planning, feedback and mentorship. The internship will require 15+ hours/week for up to 180 hours, with the option to extend beyond that. This is a paid internship.
