Job Description Role Summary We are looking for a Technical Lead Manager to lead one of our product teams. The Tech Lead Manager position is a hybrid role requiring technical expertise (programming, tech design, code reviews), people management skills (1:1s, performance reviews, mentorship), and product development work (collaborating with product managers and designers, scheduling resources, and prioritizing features). Responsibilities & Duties ● Work with the PM to pick priorities, plan out the week, and assign work to reports. You aren’t just doing what the PM says, but instead you are working with them to accomplish a shared goal. ● Create and review tech designs for large features.
You are responsible for the technical architecture of the system you are building (with guidance and support from platform engineers). ● Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality. We use code reviews as an opportunity to teach, learn, and maintain code quality. Conducting thorough reviews is an important part of leading a tech team. ● Write code when the team needs an extra productivity boost. ● Manage 1 - 5 engineers.

As a TLM you will need to conduct 1:1’s and help encourage and facilitate technical growth within your team. ● Have a hands-on attitude. While it’s important to delegate work to your reports, it’s also important to be willing to jump in and solve a problem or handle a crisis Desired Experience & Qualifications ● Extensive experience building web applications. You’ve seen some stuff, and whether it’s good, bad, or ugly it continues to inform the decisions you make on the software you build. ● Experience building systems to handle large scale while maintaining high availability. ● Our stack includes React, Rails, GraphQL, and Postgres.
