Toxicology Lab Technician

We are looking for a part time Toxicology Lab Tech to join our team! We're a physician owned laboratory that specializes in addiction care. You will be working with and testing patient urine for the detection of drugs via LC-MS methodologies. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Prepare urine samples for routine testing and analysis 
• Maintain a clean work environment in a laboratory setting 
• Prepare laboratory reagents 
• Monitor inventory of samples and laboratory supplies and order supplies when needed
• Maintain general maintenance on LC-MS instrument 
• Will have to work with LC-MS software
• May have to trouble shoot LC-MS issues with remote personnel 
• Keep track of temperatures throughout laboratory
• Maintain quality control and quality assurance reports for laboratory
• Work with proficiency testing samples and maintain results 
• Prepare corrective actions when necessary
• Keep track of final patient reports an make sure providers receive them promptly
• Work with LIS system
• May have to collect urine samples if needed to by management
• Work under the supervision of laboratory manager, technical supervisor and director
• Communicate with laboratory manager, technical supervisor and director when necessary
•  Follow CLIA and COLA guidelines and regulations  

Job Qualifications: 

• Must have a Bachelors degree in a science related field, such as Biology or Chemistry 
• Previous experience with working in a laboratory
• Previous experience with working with LC-MS
• Preferably 1 year of high complexity clinical laboratory experience in toxicology
• Strong organizational skills preferred
• Good communication skills preferred
