Medical Billing Assistant

Women's Health Associates of NWA is seeking a full-time Medical Billing Assistant for our busy Bentonville location. Our office is growing and looking for a professional and motivated individual to join our team. The Medical Billing Assistant is responsible for welcoming and assisting patients and visitors. Primary job duties include greeting patients, answering billing and/or insurance questions, collecting patient co-pays, validating insurance benefits, processing paperwork, and maintaining patient's financial accounts by obtaining, recording and updating financial information.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

·Provide excellent customer service, through patient interaction in person and exceptional telephone etiquette when taking incoming calls

·Update any changes to patients' demographics in Electronic Health Record (EHR), under correct tabs

·Follow established policies and procedures when managing different topics

·Verify patient financial records/insurance benefits and collect patient charges, such as co-pays, past due balance or pre-payments

·Comfortable discussing patient's insurance benefits/coverage

·Must be able to multitask and possess critical thinking skills to effectively cross reference multiple insurance websites

· Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast pace environment

·Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

·1-2 years of medical billing experience preferred
