Job Summary: The Banquet Server provides food and beverage service to guests during banquet/catering events ensuring guest satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
• Attend event meetings in order to learn function particulars, last minute changes and guest expectations
• To arrive well-groomed and on-time and dressed in the appropriate uniform.
• Sets tables according to type of event and service standards, including types of linens, glassware, plate/chinaware, and silver/flatware, ensuring all supplies meet quality standards.
• Provide exceptional service to guest by proactively addressing their needs, being attentive to their request and gretting guest
• Possess complete knowledge of the event menu and serve food and beverages to guests graciously and with respect
• Perform continual table maintenance throughout the event
• Ensuring that special dietary needs (food allergies, food intolerances, etc.) are met
• Keeps desginaged working area clean and organized and assist in maining cleanliness of event room
• Maintain clear and open communication between all staff members for overall event success.
• Communicate any issues with food service and/or dining issues to the Event Manager,
Execuitve Chef, and/or General Manager in a timely manner
Accommodate all reasonable requests by guests in a timely and hospitable manner.
• Assist with post-event clean up and tear down
• Adhering to safety and quality regulations
• Perform other related functions that may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma
Required Experience:
• 2 years banquet server experience or similar role in fine dining setting
• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
• A passion for serving guest
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Must have basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations, food and beverage preparations as well as etiquette
• Be able to communicate clearly and effectively (verbal & written)
• Must be willing to relate cordially with others members of the team and help co-workers with their job duties
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to memorize and recite menus, items served, and wine/cocktail selection
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced enviornment
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, twist at the neck and trunk, bend at the waist and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, reach overhead, above shoulders and horizontally. Employees will use hands to handle objects and tools, and operate service equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40-pound objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may use vision to monitor food quality and quantity and may also order supplies, etc.
Work Conditions:
May require days, nights, weekend and holidays hours. While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works in an indoor front of restaurant and kitchen environment with exposure to heat from ovens, hot foods and steamers and cleaning chemicals, fumes, equipment, and metal objects. You will usually be based indoors, splitting your time between the front of the restaurant and the kitchen. You could be exposed to
outside weather conditions, if providing service during an outside event The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud dependent on specific work site and/or equipment operation.
