WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE The Plant Manager will provide overall leadership and direction to the plant in all areas of responsibility including production, processing, packaging and safety. The Plant Manager is accountable for production quality; responsibilities also include long and short range manufacturing planning. The Plant Manager coordinates and directs activities so that approved products are manufactured on-schedule and within the desired quality and cost standards. The successful candidate will hold responsibility for executing daily/weekly production schedule for optimal efficiencies. JOB DUTIES & CAPABILITIES: Perform as a first-level leader in a complex food manufacturing facility, providing coaching, support, and direction to members of a work teamProvide business and technical leadership necessary to ensure both the department and facility meet and/or exceed goals in critical manufacturing success areas (Cost/Quality, Sanitation, System Utilization, Customer Service, and Health/Safety/Environment)Leverage knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools to coach employees to solve problems and eliminate defectsConduct regular team meetings which include effective communication of organizational and policy changesProvide performance feedback and coaching to team members via appraisals and/or other documentationTrack departmental budget and as applicable take appropriate actions to ensure that departmental budget goals are achievedWork and/or attend meetings during other shifts (including off-shifts and/or weekends) as necessaryDemonstrates high level of problem solving for manufacturing issues, employee issues, capital improvements, and overall business improvements. Mentors floor supervisors towards excellent managerial skills and development. Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factorsCoordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment Staff, train, evaluate and develop team membersManage line efficiencies, key performance indicators and down timeEnsures equipment in the area assigned is in working order and that working conditions are safe at all times.Verify the readiness of the production line at start-up and supervise change oversOther duties as assigned WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment (5+ years preferred)Five year minimum experience as Food Production Supervisor-Someone with a management style of being involved, helping employees, and always be engagingFive years proven success directing and guiding operators and their activities for assigned shift in a food manufacturing environment; Requires experience managing people/budgetsAbility to provide leadership by strong decision making skills and the integrity involved with those decisionsAbility to provide leadership by organizing, participating and facilitating groups for completion of goals MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Microsoft Office Knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Five year minimum experience as Food Production Supervisor-Someone with a management style of being involved, helping employees, and always be engagingFive years proven success directing and guiding operators and their activities for assigned shift in a food manufacturing environmentLeadership experience in a food manufacturing environment (5+ years preferred)Valid Arizona Driver License PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Agriculture, Nutritional Science, Management, Engineering or related disciplinesFive or more years of managerial experience in a food manufacturing environment Five or more years experience preferred in regard to providing leadership to a diverse workforce One hundred and Twenty to One hundred and thirty (120-130) indirect reports (direct and indirect labor) Bilingual (English and Spanish) Microsoft Office Knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving machinery, and outside weather conditions Standing/walking for prolonged periods of time Occasionally required to climb stairwaysOccasionally may lift/carry up to 50 lbsOccasionally exposed to high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock, and vibrationsWHAT WE OFFER Our rich benefits packages are designed to support the health and well-being of both our eligible co-workers and their families.
