We are looking to fill an opportunity for a Test Technician in our Holzworth office. Holzworth is located in Boulder, Colorado. Situated 25 miles northwest of Denver in the Colorado foothills, Boulder is well known as a progressive community with a diverse and lively social scene. More than 300 days of sunshine (annually) allow locals to enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities including hiking, skiing, cycling, rock climbing, kayaking, and much more.

Scope:

The ideal candidate possesses a strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals with working knowledge of radio frequency (RF)-based electronic systems. Performs a variety of testing and troubleshooting on various instruments, RF components, sub-assemblies, SMT circuit cards for integration into full hardware systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work from test procedures and work instructions to verify product conformance to specifications, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronics components, using hand tools and soldering iron.
  • Experience with the setup, operation and maintenance of spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
  • Basic understanding of DC and RF data: voltage, current, power, insertion loss, and return loss
  • Working knowledge of RF/Microwave measurements
  • Document and evaluate results to determine acceptable versus faulty performance, Repair and adjust as required to standard troubleshooting techniques.
  • Maintain test records, automated test reports and production documentation.
  • Write reports and record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, and specifications to assist engineers.
  • Records and analyzes data results from standard test routine formats and provides results to product and engineering teams.
  • Diligent in following ESD protocols
  • Ability to thrive in both high-production, as well as low-volume / high-mix environments
  • Must maintain a clean safe work area compliant with ISO procedures, policies, and regulations
  • Ask questions when instructions are not understood or unclear

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 4+ years’ experience as a Test Technician in a manufacturing environment, or the military; or a related 2-year technical degree and 2 or more years related experience
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret electronic and mechanical diagrams
  • Excellent communications skills; computer proficiency; good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Assembly and RF Test skills required
  • Works well as an equal in a technician team and demonstrates team leadership skills
  • Excel formulas, PowerPoint simple programming skills
  • Good computer skills using various software programs (Microsoft office, Matlab experience is a plus)
  • Good planning, organization, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines
  • Knowledge of instrumentation calibration to ANSI Z-540 and ISO 17025 standards and manufacturing to ISO 9001 is a plus.
