The Benefits Specialist is an enterprise position (i.e., services both Car Toys and Wireless Advocates responsible for performing the day to day duties associated with the administration of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 401(k) administration). Additionally, the position is responsible for assisting in compliance duties as required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and other applicable regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Benefits Administration
+ Complete monthly enrollment for benefits, including HRIS system entry, auditing of HRIS system entry and TPA Benefit System content.
+ Coordinate transfer of data to carriers and third party administrators.
+ Assist with the open enrollment process
+ Maintain TPA Health and Welfare Benefits website and manage content of the intranet benefits page, updating as needed.
+ Maintain employee benefit files.
+ Collaborate with benefit consultants, brokers and other external providers
+ Assist with regulatory compliance as required by the PPACA and other applicable regulation.
+ Assist in developing employee communication around the changing benefit requirements for PPACA.
+ Assist in researching required actions necessary by new regulations, developing procedures and tracking to comply.
+ Respond to notices from Health Care Exchanges regarding employee eligibility in a timely and compliant manner.
+ Respond to medical support orders in a timely manner
+ Special Projects as assigned.
+ Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
+ 0-2 years' experience in benefits and/or related benefits administration/payroll
+ 1+ years of general HR experience preferred
+ Intermediate knowledge of HRIS databases preferred
+ Intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher and Access.
+ High commitment to customer service to our internal and external clients.
+ Possess a high level of integrity - must always show good judgment and confidentiality
+ Willingness to problem-solve creatively
+ Dependable and highly detailed individual with strong organizational skills
+ Highly motivated, results driven and able to work independently as well as with the team
+ Clear and effective oral and written presentation of ideas/recommendation
+ Read, speak, write and understand the English language fluently
+ Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
