We are currently seeking to hire a Sales and Marketing person with at least 3-5 years of hotel sales experience.
To identify, develop, create and maintain property sales and catering objectives in accordance with the Wingate by Wyndham’ mission statement. Outside sales calls and high community visibility are a priority in this position. Ability to manage and motivate personnel, organize and assist in the execution of any banquet, catering, group event, as well as, polished people skills is crucial to the success of increased revenues and profitability.
Maintain high visibility in the surrounding communities. Active participation in key community and community service events.
Meet and exceed revenue and profitability as established by General Manager.
Maintain efficient sales office procedures; ensure the maintenance of accurate and updated account files and follow-up procedures.
Provide GM with reports and action plans in regards to sales progress as requested.
Provide motivation, support, encouragement, and direction to all fellow employees, as it relates to sales/catering.
Make face-to-face sales calls on a daily basis per action plan, goals and objectives.
Maintain all sales systems, such as sales records and reports, conference calendar, traces of history and potentials, logs of groups not accommodated and mailing lists.
Develop new programs and campaigns, designed to develop and increase additional sales and revenue from the various markets.
Ensure the prompt and systematic servicing of all accounts (i.e. tracing, booking, contracting, and communicating with hotel departments, following up with a group for feedback and future booking.)
Identify and analyze competition, both locally and regionally. Aid in developing competitive strategies.
Work on special projects as assigned by General Manager. Attend all staff meetings.
Act, when assigned, as Manager on Duty.
Entertain at the level directed by the General Manager. Initiate and develop an action plan for property related special events.
Education: A college degree in Business or experience in that area. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace and by guests who frequently visit the workplace.
Experience: Previous hotel-related experience, sales management experience in hotel or service industry, experience in budgeting and business planning. Must have social media experience as well.
Physical: Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, visual acuity, hearing, writing and good speaking ability. Requires some lifting of tables, chairs, etc. for the purpose of meeting set-ups.
