Tasting Room Sales Associate

Part-Time Tasting Room Associate (Weekends Primarily)

We are seeking Sales Associates who are excited to create new customers, develop relationships with existing customers, and gain satisfaction generating sales (bottles, cases, Wine Club memberships) via their own initiative. This part-time job is in our Tasting Room on Saturdays and Sundays (and other opportunities on occasion). Associates work anywhere from 2 to 8 weekend days per month. 

Required Traits

• Comfortable speaking with wide-range of people, striking up conversation with complete strangers at times

• Ability to sell the merits of Byington Wine, bottles, cases, Wine Club memberships

• Open to guidance on interacting with guests and selling more wine

• Strong interest and knowledge of wine and ability to learn/retain wine-related details

• Customer service-focused with a desire to create a memorable guest experience

• Warm and personable nature with professional appearance and demeanor

• Commitment to excellence and high standards

• Flexible and able to manage a variety of circumstances with grace and enthusiasm

• Ability to speak effectively before groups for Wine Tours a plus

• Love for our wines, property, and the unique experience we provide to our guests

Responsibilities

• Sell wine experiences, bottles, cases, Wine Club memberships

• Build relationships with our customers

• Make all guests feel welcome by greeting, assisting, thanking, seeing them out

• Effectively suggest and sell wine to customers

• Enroll and welcome guests into our wine club

• Handle routine cash register transactions

• Tidy up public areas throughout day to maintain first-rate guest experience

• Willingness to learn/be responsible for opening and closing procedures

• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager

Working Conditions

• Weekend shifts (additional opportunities on occasion)

• Moderate to heavy physical work (moving wine cases, tables and chairs, setting up for special events)

• Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)

• Carrying case(s) of wine to customer’s vehicle after purchase

• Washing and buffing wine glasses to keep a clean work environment

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds (case of wine)

• 21 years old and older

Tasting Room Sales Associates have opportunity to earn tips and commissions.
