Windcrest Animal Hospital is currently seeking a full time/part time for Veterinary Technician and Emergency Technician. Applicants must have at least 1-2 years experience as a Technician. A licensed certified Technician is a plus .At Windcrest, we treat many different species of exotics as well as dogs and cats. Windcrest Animal Hospital is located in a state-of-the-art 26,000 square foot free standing facility in Wilmington, Delaware suburbs. Our facility offers 24 hours emergency services (Veterinarian and technician on site at all time) surgery, intensive care, ultrasound, laser, in-house laboratory, complete dental suite including digital dental x-ray, endoscopy, preventative and ill care. Boarding and Grooming services on site. Windcrest opened Delaware's first aquatic rehabilitation program with underwater treadmill and an Endless Pool. Requirements: Core Competencies of the Technician include: Ability to work in a group dynamic Excellent phone skills and client interaction Computer literate Maintain a clean and organized work area Train and mentor new staff members Obtain patient history from client and review with doctor Client education Perform TPR Be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted Restraint of both dogs and cats Trim both cat and dog nails Express anal glands Venipuncture of cephalic, femoral, saphenous, and jugular Administer IV, IM and SQ Fluids Knowledgeable of common antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, antihistamines,antiparasitic, controlled drugs, prescription diets, and vaccines Radiology; measurements, position, calibrating machines, and processing film Assist doctor in preforming euthanasia's Exotic experience Core Competencies of the Surgical Technician included: IV Catheter placement Knowledge of controlled drugs, dosing and administrating Set up fluid lines Assist doctor during induction Surgical site preparation Develop and maintain a sterile surgical work area and site Perform anesthetic management of patient from induction, throughout procedure, through extubation and recovery Monitor patients under anesthesia using vital signs monitor which would include ecg, respiration, temperature, spo2, and blood pressure Ultrasonic dental scaling and polishing Digital dental radiography knowledge preferred, but not required Employment Type: Full Time
