Wilmington PharmaTech (WPT) is seeking self-motivated Pilot Plant Operator to join our dynamic chemistry process department for active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) synthesis in clinical phase drug development. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and, pharmaceutical / chemical manufacturing, and knowledge of facilities and maintenance. The position is set in a fast-paced start-up environment and will require the individual to work on a broad range of tasks.
Read, understand and precisely follow the instructions provided in batch records, applicable SOP’s and related documents. Conduct visual and instrumental inspection of operating equipment to determine current operating status. Read, record and interpret data of instruments, reactors, tanks, pumps, cooling unit, etc., and make corrective adjustments as required. Work from both verbal & written instructions of Supervisor, standard procedures, and batch records to operate reactors. Maintain good housekeeping and good chemical hygiene in work areas and assist in general cleanup as assigned. Participate in miscellaneous duties including but not limited to cleanouts, assistance to plant during outages, and maintain operating condition of key equipment. Working safely with hazardous materials and hazardous equipment. Average to above average mathematical skills (decimals, metric system, rounding, basic arithmetic). Comply with all cGMP requirements as directed by the Quality department and supervision. Ability to charge solids and liquids into reactors, control the process per instructions, work with filtration devices and other process equipment. Ability to package products, label and move drums and other containers as instructed. Attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Chemistry or Science Degree highly preferred. Work experience of 0-3 years in a related field is preferred but not required. Must have the ability to work outside of normal business hours, nights, and weekends if needed. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
