Position Title Industrial Maintenance Technician – Manufacturing Equipment
Location Prospect, CT
Progressive and growing Industrial Manufacturer in the Greater Waterbury area is seeking a full
time Mechatronics Engineer for integrating/supporting/trouble-shooting automation and control
systems used in manufacturing processes.
This job entails -
Assist in the design and integration of robotic and intelligent equipment controls into new
and existing manufacturing systems
Develop systems and build prototypes
Design and build completely new systems by integrating various technologies
Develop new solutions to industrial problems using mechanical and electronic processes
and computer technology.
Build and test factory production lines introducing automation to improve existing
Apply advanced control systems
Detailed troubleshooting of production line automation components, involving electrical
and mechanical systems
Technical support and software changes to PLC equipment
Including schematic knowledge, ladder logic, drive installation, and basic programming.
Continuous improvement and modernization of older systems
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and
performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine
Troubleshooting Automation Direct, Siemens, Allen Bradley/Direct Logic lines of PLC’s
and HMI’s as well as integrated software and VFD controls.
Write in advanced control system programming for Automation Direct
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic,
hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
The background that fits -
An AA degree with equivalent maintenance experience.
Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology Associate Degree,
Hands on experience of executing Automation projects for process plants
The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics to repair electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, and machine specifications
Project management experience and strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
5+ years of successful industrial experience with electrical controls systems.
In-depth knowledge of industrial electronics, pneumatic, hydraulics and basic mechanical
Ability to troubleshoot program logic automation, servo’s, profibus, canbus, device net,
Ethernet, sensors actuators
Advanced mechanical and pneumatic skills
Experience with repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
Install new equipment, ensuring all components and assemblies are properly integrated
Ability to work independently
Ability to analyze the problem and provide solutions during the trouble shooting
Ability to creatively and independently troubleshoot and solve technical problems
Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition Conduct repairs
Suggest/recommend spare parts / corrective actions, providing written service call reports
to service department
Strong decision-making skills
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical devices
Ability to effectively respond to emergency situations
Self-motivated with maturity to self-manage and work independently
Help create Engineering work processes
1. 5 or more years of successful industrial experience with electrical controls systems.
2. Experience with industrial electronics, PLCs, pneumatic, hydraulics and basic mechanical abilities.
3. Experience with repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
