Wilkes University invites applicants for a Technical Services Librarian in Farley Library. The library is a progressive and active supporter of student learning and research and has undergone multiple, recent renovations to support this mission.
The successful candidate is responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of the Technical Services Department, including developing the book and audio-visual collections, placing orders, tracking expenditures, developing vendor relationships, cataloging all library materials, including rare books and dissertations, stacks maintenance, and serves as the Sierra systems administrator and site coordinator. Secondary responsibilities include reference support, liaison duties, and library planning. A Master of Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution is required. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with OCLC Connexion, AACR2 and RDA cataloging rules, Library of Congress classification, and the Sierra Integrated Library System. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and with a team, commitment to using new and emerging technology to advance work goals and to enhance and ensure a high level of user satisfaction, and enthusiasm and flexibility for working in an innovative, evolving environment is essential. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
